Havencroft is an expansive community in Olathe’s 66062 zip code, located off of 143rd Street. The neighborhood is split into two areas: the larger subdivision is from Mur-Len Road to Blackbob Road, north of 151st Street and south of 143rd Street.

There is also a wide section of Havencroft to the west, beginning at Ridgeview Road and going north to Cedar Street, wrapping around the side of Old 56 Highway and the MidAmerica Nazarene University campus. 

There are around 1,300 homes total in Havencroft. The earliest homes are in the western section of the neighborhood and are a mix of single family homes and half duplexes. Most of these homes have an average of 1,725 square feet of living space, 1 to 2 car garages, and various updates done throughout. There are significantly larger homes intermixed throughout the entire Havencroft community that are spectacular to look at and offer very unique architecture.

The homes in the larger section of Havencroft to the east are all single family homes and usually have fenced yards, an average of 2,500 square feet of living area, 2 car garages, finished basements, and some have in-ground pools in the backyard. All homes in Havencroft feature an assortment of layouts and have been updated at some point. The starting price for these homes is around $180,000.

In 2012-2013, the city of Olathe began construction on 143rd Street at Locust Street to upgrade a street bridge and regrade the land for better drainage. The previous homes there showed a lot of sinking and foundation damage, so they were demolished and new homes were built in their place with stronger foundations and better water drainage in 2014. 

The school system that your child will attend depends on where you live within Havencroft. Residents will either be at Havencroft Elementary, Briarwood Elementary, or Blackbob Elementary School and either Indian Trail Middle or Frontier Trail Middle School. All school kids in Havencroft will attend Olathe South High School.

For outdoor exercise and activity, residents enjoy visiting nearby Blackbob Park, an 80 acre community park with playground, picnic areas, fishing pond, soccer and baseball fields, basketball court, and 2 mile walking trail with fitness course. This park is originally named for Chief Black Bob from the Shawnee Band of Native Americans.

Within Blackbob Park is Blackbob Bay, an enormous pool park with raft water slides, shallow water play structure, dive well with diving boards, 50-meter pool with lap lane, a baby pool, and a “lazy river” feature where you can simulate floating down a long and winding river.
